Professional Development Opportunities

As a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor or Registered Professional Counsellor, you are required to earn professional development hours specifically related to counselling and/or psychotherapy each year. It can be formal and informal and may include consultation, mentoring, reflective supervision, coaching, peer mentoring, courses and seminars. They can contribute to your individual development, to the professional development of others, or the betterment of the counselling profession.

At Clearmind, we have many ways that you can attain your professional development hours:

  • Seminars and Training
  • Workshop participation in an area that would benefit you and/or your clients i.e. leadership, addictions and attachments, or men’s and women’s issues 
  • Self-Directed Learning
  • Learning Through Contribution

  • Clearmind Events (Counsellor Training Events, Constitution Volunteering, Speaker Events, Trade Shows, etc.)
  • Counselling Supervision (Individual or Group) 
  • Many of Clearmind’s staff and community members are Registered Counselling Supervisors (RCS’s). Please check out our Counselling Therapist Directory or Our Team. As long as you have your required supervision hours, often hours over that requirement can be included for professional development.
